A large amount of information is left behind whenever you go online on a computer. Your browsing habits and much more are always logged somewhere and the information may cause a good bit of trouble in certain circumstances. This is where specialized utilities like PC Privacy Shield can help you significantly. You can use this software to erase your online footprints, as well as other information you leave behind on your computer after browsing the web or chatting with someone.

The software is not free, but a limited trial version is available. It works on all modern Windows versions and it can be installed quickly and easily. There are no advanced settings to be made along the way and you don't have to install any additional tools or services. Also, the hardware requirements are quite modest.

The user interface consists of several sections, where you can view an overall status of your system, scan it, view results and access a few other special cleanup tools. You can start a general scan with a single click. It takes about a minute to complete the process, but the software will scan your browsers and chat applications for browsing data, as well as user data, which includes passwords.

The scanning process is well illustrated, to let you know exactly what the software is doing. Once it is done, you can look over individual results and remove the found items or just click a button to remove everything at once.

Besides doing a general scan, PC Privacy Shield lets you scan for user passwords, profile info, browser history and other elements separately. The procedure is the same. You have to click a button to start scanning, wait for the results and remove the found traces. It is much faster if you only want to get rid of specific items.

A particularly useful feature is PC Privacy Shield's sandbox functionality. You can add one or more applications to a list and protect them with a password if you want to. When running applications from this sandbox, you won't have to worry about leftover information as it will be deleted automatically.

Thanks to PC Privacy Shield, you can surf the web and chat with people without having to worry about saved passwords or other sensitive information left behind.

Pros

The software can identify any sensitive information left behind by browsers and chat applications. It can scan everything in one go and it lets you delete all traces with a single click.

Cons

The trial version doesn't actually delete anything, which makes a relevant evaluation impossible.
